Weekly Recap #1

I’ve had a seriously lazy last fortnight over Christmas and new year, so this weekly training report is just sad – but hope to get back on track with half marathon training this week in preparation for Surrey Half in March.

Wednesday: 8.7 miles on the exercise bike in 34 minutes. 14K to see in 2014!

Saturday: Greatlines Parkrun 5K (29:20). Pouring hard and blowing a gale for this weeks parkrun, but still my second fastest parkrun, and third fastest 5K ever.

Sunday: 6.2 miles on the exercise bike again.

Total mileage = 18 miles exactly.

Hoping for better this week, I have run club on Tuesday, Parkrun on Saturday and runs planned for Thurs + Sunday. Also planning on a new Yoga for Runners video I found on youtube this week to help with my tight right hip.

2014 Goals – Year of the PB

I’m not a fan of New Year’s resolutions, and prefer to set goals for the year instead. So here are 2014s goals.

Racing Goals

• Run sub-27 5K
• Run sub-1 hour 10K
• Run sub 2 hour Half-Marathon
• Run 10 races for the year
• Try a new distance (should be Canterbury 10 mile race this month!)

Fitness Goals

• Run 750 miles for the year
• Do a yoga session at least once a week
• Work on my swimming until I can swim 1 mile without a break
• Go to running club regularly

Other Goals

• Start saving for a racing bike
• Start trying to get more fruit and veg into my diet
• Finish my bookkeeping course

Trying to get January off to a good start –  I have my first running club training session on Tuesday night, first race on January 26^th and have ordered a smoothie maker!

2015 Worlds to Glasgow

British Gymnastics just updated there facebook to say Glasgow has been awarded the 2015 World Championships – the final worlds competition before the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Yesterday Antwerp in Belgium was announced as the host city for the 2013 Worlds, the 2014 Worlds host city is being decided today but hasn’t been announced yet – I will post as soon as I here.
